Royal Wine and Cocoa Lasagna

Lasagna is the king of comfort food. But when layered with our Royal Bolognese – Wine & Cocoa, it becomes something else entirely — tradition, reimagined with subtle notes of wine and cocoa that add richness and intrigue.

Ingredients:

• 1 jar Royal Bolognese – Wine & Cocoa sauce

• 250g lasagna sheets

• 500g ricotta or béchamel sauce

• 200g mozzarella, shredded

• 100g Parmesan, grated

• Olive oil, salt, pepper


Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly oil a baking dish.

2. Spread a thin layer of Bolognese sauce, then cover with lasagna sheets.

3. Add ricotta or béchamel, sprinkle mozzarella, then another layer of sauce. Repeat layers.

4. Finish with sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan on top.

5. Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbling. Let rest before serving.

Pairing: 

A rich Italian red like
Barbera d’Alba or Chianti Classico.

Why: These wines have enough acidity to cut through the cheese while complementing the cocoa’s depth and the sauce’s richness.
